HVS Announces Majority Acquisition of Specialist Engineering Company – Mage Control Systems Ltd
Today we have announced a majority acquisition of Mage Control Systems Ltd. Also based in Scotland, Mage Control Systems are a specialist provider of engineering solutions with emphasis on adaptive and predictive control system design and power electronics.
The acquisition will greatly enhance our capabilities through the all-important R&D phase of vehicle development, as we prepare our innovative Hydrogen fuel-cell HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) tractor unit for production. It will expedite the rapid prototyping of hardware and software needed for the development of our proprietary hydrogen fuel cell control system – SEMAS ™.
HVS has a holistic approach to development. In addition to the hardware elements of the vehicle, we place considerable emphasis on software & control system development. Showcasing our commitment to innovation, we have developed an innovative powertrain control system named SEMAS™, which delivers an optimum driving experience, durability and fuel efficiency. SEMAS™ uses vehicle-level IoT (Internet of Things) sensors coupled to a smart controller to enable AI-based machine learning to optimise performance. Mage Control Systems will support the HVS team to provide the necessary proof of concept delivery for SEMAS™ along with rapid prototyping capability requirements.
Mage Control Systems are expert in providing bespoke, high reliability embedded control systems. Designed for application in the harshest and toughest of environments, their solutions save energy and keep costs under control. Established as a specialist consultancy in 2011, the company has grown to develop a dedicated team of highly motivated engineers with 60 years of combined experience in adaptive and predictive control system design. The team’s experience has been developed in various industry sectors: aerospace; renewables; downhole logging & intervention; deep sea; medical; electro-optical inertial stabilisation; navigation; motion control and intelligent sensing. The result is a team of peerless, boundary breaking innovators who consider complex engineering challenges as opportunities to develop disruptive technological solutions.
